JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintenance Technician II
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of equipment and facilities through advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, and proficiency in basic electrical work.
This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
The Maintenance Technician II will collaborate with the maintenance team and report to the Maintenance Supervisor, contributing significantly to the overall efficiency of operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
• Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring minimal
downtime.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to assess equipment malfunctions
accurately.
2. Preventive Maintenance (PM):
• Develop, update, and execute detailed preventive maintenance schedules for
machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Perform advanced PM tasks to enhance equipment reliability and extend its
operational life.
• Document and maintain comprehensive records of all preventive maintenance
activities.
3. Advanced Electrical Work:
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues in machinery and systems.
• Conduct basic electrical installations and upgrades as required.
• Adhere to electrical safety standards and regulations.
4. Equipment Monitoring and Optimization:
• Monitor the performance of critical equipment and systems, implementing
improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to implement optimization
strategies.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, including
troubleshooting, repairs, and PM tasks.
• Generate reports on equipment status, maintenance trends, and recommendations for optimization.
6. Collaboration:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex maintenance
challenges.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Maintenance Technician 1 and other junior
team members.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and basic electrical work.
• 5-10 years of experience
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced computer skills for detailed record-keeping and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
• Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including tight spaces and heights.
