LARGE MANUFACTURING PLANT IN CLIFTON NJ IS LOOKING FOR A 1ST SHIFT ELECTRICAL MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN WHO HAS AT LEAST 7 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN MAINTENANCE. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS BILINGUAL AS WELL.
LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN DO WORK WITH 480V, PLCS, VFDS, ETC.
PAYS: $25-$32
SHIFT: 6AM-230PM (OPEN TO BEING ON CALL TOO)
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on production and packaging equipment, including liquid line machines, counter packaging machines, encapsulation machines, Kathabar systems, drying tunnels, boilers, powder mixing systems, and gelatin melting mixers.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime and ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records for equipment repairs, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance.
• Work with vendors to order necessary parts and coordinate service when required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in production processes and equipment reliability.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new maintenance processes or programs.
• Adhere to company safety policies and participate in safety programs and trainings.
• Operate and maintain heating elements, boilers, and other temperature-controlled equipment safely and efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school education preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with PM programs and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor technicians and lead maintenance projects when necessary.
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and engineering.
• Proficient in using computer systems for maintenance tracking, including CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation purposes.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physical labor as required.
