We are looking for someone who has a mechanical, Sanitation, and Production background and strong leadership experience.
Training will happen on day shift for a couple of weeks. The actual work shift would be 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM or 10:00 – 7:00 AM. The start of the work week would be Sunday night.
You will be overseeing Production, Sanitation, and Maintenance both early morning and overnight teams.
Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to oversee and direct the performance of all manufacturing support activities (maintenance, sanitation, contractors). This requires a thorough working knowledge and background of assigned maintenance and sanitation in a food manufacturing operation. As a significantly experienced superintendent, it requires directing other line supervision as necessary in their roles to meet or exceed all objectives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct site activities for subcontractors and extended construction teams to ensure quality execution.
- Responsible for making personnel and operational recommendations to improve efficiency.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and manufacturing regulations
- Evaluate and suggest changes with equipment, process and procedures to improve efficiency, food and people’s safety.
- Responsible for creating a good safety culture and good working environment for employees, regulatory agencies, vendors and visitors and enforcing GMPs, Company, Safety and SQF policies
- Work closely with the HR Department on disciplinary actions, employee performance or employee appreciation duties needed to be applied.
- Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all regulatory (SQF, FDA, Health Department) activities of the operations department.
- Overseeing the effective manufacturing support operations maintenance, sanitation, and contractor’s activities on the night shift
- Accurately maintaining, completing, and filing daily records.
- Evaluate the performance of department employees, provide coaching or positive feedback to help the team grow professionally.
- Identify low performers and initiate counseling or disciplinary actions when necessary
- Work night shift and weekends assigned
Qualifications: (Competencies, Minimum Education Requirements, Training or Experience)
- 5 years supervising work in a manufacturing environment (maintenance, operations, facilities)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Attention to Detail
- Excellent organization skills and high accuracy with use of data and data entry
- Able to lift 25 lbs.
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical, electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
