PAY: $29.05-$36.25 HOURLY

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Toolmaker will work to ensures all plant and facility equipment associated with the successful fabrication of product is serviced and maintained in a timely manner. The toolmaker is responsible for troubleshooting systems; performing preventive and predictive maintenance on all installed equipment to minimize downtime, while keeping safety and quality as a priority; providing training and technical support to Assembly and Maintenance Team Members. The Toolmaker assists in production operations, and supports Management, Team Leaders, and Production Associates by acting as a liaison in matters regarding automation, safety, and continuous improvement for equipment, processes and productivity.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Basic Knowledge of welding, fabrication or mechanical systems
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
- Ability and licensed to operate a forklift and aerial lift
- Complete lock out / tag out training
- Ability to perform visual PM's
- Ability to perform 5S and TPM activities
- Knowledge of all equipment locations on the plant floor
DUTIES:
- Service, maintain, repair, install and test new or existing equipment and verify conformance to specifications. (Robot/Welding/Fixtures)
- Complete repairs, modifications and installations as required.
- Provide plant support in troubleshooting of process problems and completes quality improvements as required to maintain part standards of quality. Establish cross functional team for reliability issues
- Deal extensively with production team and other support groups as well as vendors (both parts suppliers and equipment suppliers).
- Department support for testing, repairing and calibrating measurement components. Validates reliability issues with components and investigates repeat component failures.
- Carries out preventative/predictive maintenance procedures as laid out by MSC and the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Takes part in the continuous improvement process to improve productivity and quality
- Prepare drawings, material specifications to requisition as required by vendors or other departments.
- Other duties as required.
EQUIPMENT and/or PRODUCT FAMILIARITY:
- Forklift, Aerial Devices, PC, printer, telephone, fax, photocopier, label maker, robots, pumps, compressors, Welders, MIG, TIG, Arc welders, Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinder, Band saw, etc. Microsoft Office and internal databases and software, etc.
- Physical requirements:
- Prolonged periods working on feet performing repetitive actions that require frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and/or lifting from the floor, waist, overhead, chest, and/or knee level; may also be required to squat, kneel, push, pull, carry, grasp with hands and fingers; use of hand tools
- Visual acuity is necessary to read instructions, manipulate parts, tools, machines and other objects.
- Hearing acuity to understand verbal instructions, respond to emergency signals.
- Must be able to read, write, speak the English language to communicate with other staff
- Prolonged exposure to moderate to high levels of noise, laser beams, flashing or blinking lights, machine signals and other sounds associated with a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of safety glasses and safety footwear is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
